I’m running for City Commission because I love Delray Beach. I plan to be a part of the new team of problem solvers currently on the Commission. With my background and experience I can help make our City work better, promote small and entrepreneurial businesses, provide more educational opportunities for our youth, and enhance the Delray lifestyle. I have a 20 year track record of working for Delray Beach residents and I look forward to doing even more as your next City Commissioner!
For over two decades, Jim Chard has called Delray Beach home. An active member of our community, Jim is a former Delray Beach Vice Mayor, and currently serves as a leader on several City and local Non-Profit Boards.
Prior to relocating to Delray Jim worked for over 20 years as a senior executive at some of the most prestigious global financial institutions such as Citi Bank, Morgan Stanley, and American Express as well as entrepreneurial ventures.
His career spans from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, and has centered on introducing emerging technologies, reducing costs, increasing productivity, and launching innovative new products. He has also spent time overseas launching new products and standardizing enterprise services for small and medium-sized banks. His corporate responsibilities have included executive management, marketing and sales, systems development, operations, and corporate acquisitions.
Jim Chard’s professional experience is matched by his passion and dedication to making Delray Beach the best place to live and work, grow and learn. As your next City Commissioner, Jim will draw upon his experience as a seasoned corporate executive in information technology operations, and marketing as well as his passion and deep involvement in municipal governance.
